January 2016 Escape Monthy Unboxing – India!

Hello again my Wanderlust Hearts! And welcome to…. INDIA!

Being a die hard Bollywood fan, plus learning Hindi, made me really excited to receieve this box. (I realize that last combination of words and commas was NOT a sentence but let’s just roll with it. )

Quick Glance: They definitely got this box packed to the max!! I’m so excited to dive in!

No better place to start than the beginning right?

1. Song of India Hand Made Herbal Soap- It is said to be made with essential oils that revitalize skin. And it smells awesome! Thumbs up!! πŸ‘πŸΌ

2.Shashi India Spice Blend- Inside is a mixture of cumin seed, mustard seed, turmeric, paprika, coriander powder, fenugreek leaves, dried mango, and fennel. Now I know nothing about Indian cooking but it does smell legit. Thumbs up!! πŸ‘πŸΌ

3. Diwali Diya Lamps- These are usually used during the Indian new year to symbolize the triumph of good over evil. These are hand painted.

4. Peek Frean Click Zeera- SO EXCITED TO TRY THESE. THEY WERE VERY YUMMY. There is also a hint of cumin in there to remind you that this cookie is from India. Still a thumbs up! πŸ‘πŸΌ

  5. Haldiram’s Premium Soan Papdi- Before Tasting: First off, before even tasting this…IT SMELLS AMAZING. I really think I am going to like this.

After tasting: Let’s just say that it smells better than it tastes. My American taste buds were not ready for the consistency and taste of this. Hahah. But at least I could say that I tried it! Thumbs up for experience. But thumbs down for taste. πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘ŽπŸΌ

6. Organic India Tulsi Tea- I am not a huge fan of how it smells or the fact that it takes 5-10 mins to brew! But I do like the reducing of stress and uplifting of mood. At this point my thumbs are confused.

7. Shelly Mehandi Kit- Make Henna at home! Even comes with stencils!

8. Handmade Sheesham Box- This is too cute. It looks really well made and it is sweet to put small jewelry inside.

9. Rudy Maxa’s World: India- I’m kinda bummed that it is not a book :(. I prefer travel guides. And besides. Who even uses DVDs anymore?
Overall: THIS WAS MY FAVORITE BOX SO FAR! I felt like I got to be a part of the culture and TRY SOMETHING NEW! This was an amazing box and I hope they send out more like this!!
Until Next Time ❀️❀️

Escape Monthly December Box 2015- New England

Hello My Wanderlust Hearts!

Here is a review of my December 2015 Escape Monthly Box Subscription.

This month we are going to… NEW ENGLAND!

So let’s get started with the Quick Glance: I see A LOT of candy. Like a lot. That is a good and bad thing. I like candy so that’s good. But I hate to think this box is only food. But enough of guessing, let’s get to it!

1. Frommer’s EasyGuide to Boston, Cape Cod, and the Islands- Always loving these easy travel guides! This has a thumbs up! πŸ‘πŸΌ

2. Chocolate Bars from Dan’s Chocolates- Most of this box was filled with these chocolates. Here is my review of each of the flavors-

PB Ecstasy- The peanut butter was underwhelming. Pretty average. πŸ‘ŽπŸΌ

Peppy-R-Mint- I don’t like mint chocolate. But the texture was unique. There were chunks of mint within. πŸ‘ŽπŸΌ

Lot-A-Choc- Just a bar with half of it Dark Chocolate and the other milk. πŸ‘ŽπŸΌ

Trail Hound- This was interesting. It had like berries or something inside. But I still wouldn’t purchase it again. πŸ‘ŽπŸΌ

White Delight- I do not like white chocolate. πŸ‘ŽπŸΌ

Caramel River- It didn’t LOOK like caramel and it barely tasted like it. πŸ‘ŽπŸΌ

Obviously I didn’t like these. And I am a little disappointed the box was mostly filled with that. Not to mention the bad health effects that come from eating 6 chocolate bars at once. But that last one was self inflicted. Haha.

3. Nature’s Mysteries Roll on Perfume– I don’t know if you can call it perfume but it is just like essential oils mixed. Which I do like anyways. I still wouldn’t call it perfume though. Still a thumbs up!πŸ‘πŸΌ

4. Bath Essential Natural Body Brush- How interesting! This is a dry brush that you use BEFORE THE SHOWER. To get blood flowing and softer skin. I love this idea and think it is fun to try something new. Thumbs up! πŸ‘πŸΌ

5. Delights of the Earth Maple Lip Balm- Maple syrup lip balm? That’s kinda awesome! It had good application! A thumbs up for me.  πŸ‘πŸΌ

6. Plum Island Soap Co. Face Moisturizer- For particarly dry skin during the cold winter months. And it also doubles as a makeup remover. Thumbs up all around!! πŸ‘πŸΌ

7. True North Maple Vanilla Granola-This mix is also gluten free. This mix was very tasty and perfect to take on a hike or a walk! Thumbs up!!πŸ‘πŸΌ

8. Lake Champlain Chocolates Rum Caramel Filled Dark Chocolate Bar- SERIOUSLY MORE CHOCOLATE? I’m am seriously going to have health issues after this box. Not too happy to see more chocolate in here. The caramel was perfectly creamy. Unfortunately I am not a huge fan of dark chocolate and this one was extremely bitter. But I still give it a thumbs up. πŸ‘πŸΌ

Overall: I think this box had too much chocolate. But the other stuff made up for it.

Cheers To You VoxBox from Influenster

Here is my latest unboxing video from Influenster. I was a little bummed with the amount in this box. Only a few items! But still wanted to share with you all!

Escape Monthly November 2015 Box Subscription- Travel to Arizona!

Hello Wanderlust Hearts!

And welcome to Arizona!!

First Glance: Extremely UNDERwhelming. Not very impressed with the different items by just looking at them. Doesn’t seem to be a value over $50 bucks… But let’s dig a little deeper!

1. Moon Tucson Guide: One thing I do love about the Escape Monthly Boxes is that they always include a travel guide which I always find valuable and it stirs up a bunch of feelings of wanderlust in my heart! In this guide we see the best that Tucson has to offer- from the Tucson Mountains and Rincon Valley- and other interesting places to sightsee. This has my thumbs up! πŸ‘πŸΌ

2.Arizona Sun Bath and Shower Gelee- The first thing that I did upon seeing this was smell it. Because who cares about the natural properties if it smells like cow manure right? Haha. The smell was pleasant and wasn’t too overpowering, which is a good thing. It is blended with Arizona native cacti, plants and natural moisturizers. This also has my thumbs up! πŸ‘πŸΌ

3. Cowgirl Chocolate Milk Chocolate Bar- It says “Mild Dark” which is comforting to me because I am not really a dark chocolate person. It was PRETTY good. Not my favorite, but it wasn’t too bad. I prefer my chocolate with domes off of nut or crunchy-ness to it. But still pretty good. Didn’t leave me with a bad aftertaste. I still give this a thumbs up as well! πŸ‘πŸΌ

(The other item was just the card for what was inside the box.)

4. Phizz (The “Bonus” in the Box)- This got me REALLY excited. I love these type of dissolvable tablets that rehydrate and give vitamins and minerals. This is definitely an easy thumbs up! πŸ‘πŸΌ

5. Arizona Sun Lip-Kist Lip Balm- OH. MY. GOODNESS. First off, the flavor is lemon. Second off, one of the most moisturizing lip balms ever!! They use natural oils and aloe extract to hydrate, nourish and moisturize lips. Seriously the best. I would actually purchase this again when I run out. Another thumbs up! πŸ‘πŸΌ

6. Handcrafted Turquoise Necklace and Bracelet- Hmm… Long story short… I don’t like this. I think this would appeal to some people but I didn’t like it.

That is it on me. This one gets a thumbs down… πŸ˜¦πŸ‘ŽπŸΌ

7. Route 66 Travel Mug- Nice enough mug. Had some facts on the back. Might be good for work. I would give it a thumbs up for use-ability (I can’t think of the word that I need) but a thumbs down for look because the facts look kinda dorky. Like they put it on with a label maker or something. πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘ŽπŸΌ

8. Blue Mesh Blue Puff- Can anyone say “Space Filler”. I can buy one of these at the dollar store people. I feel like they put this is just to make it look like there are more items in the box. This has my thumbs down! πŸ‘ŽπŸΌ
Overall Thoughts- Overall this box was OKAY. I don’t think it was worth the price but there were some items that were really good.
Until next month ❀️

~ Escape Monthly ~ New Box Subscription

Hello my friends!

Here is an exciting Box Subscription company that I would like to talk about today. It is called Escape Monthly and according to their website, Β “Escape MonthlyΒ is a destination-inspired monthly subscription service that delivers luxury products to help you relax, renew and escape!”

The quick down low…

Initial Thoughts: I love the idea of travel (or vacation) in a box. Not all bloggers have an extensive fortune to be able to travel the entire universe but what is nice is that this gives a glimpse of what each place is like.

Β My Experience With The Company: The customer service is outstanding. To me that means a lot. They are very helpful and able to answer any questions.

Price: They actually have a couple different options depending on how much you are willing to spend. They have theΒ Regular ($49.95), Luxe ($69.95) and Mini Size ($24.95). They also run a few promotions throughout the year and you are able to get them a bit cheaper.

My first box: My first box was actually Escape to….(drumroll please)…. CALIFORNIA. Which if you didn’t know already, I actually live in California. Not going to lie that was a bit of a bummer especially since I thought I was going to get the Greece Box. Still, it had a nice spread of things. I don’t know if it really defined “California” for me but I think I am a tougher critic since I actually live here. Some of the items I thought were a little irrelevant but they threw in just to raise the value. i.e. the loofa and the soap holder thingy, also the travel wallet had nothing to do with California. I think if they were trying to stick with the whole “San Francisco” theme they should have used GhirardelliΒ chocolates instead of the one that they added.

escape-monthly-california-box-2015

Products I liked:

-The Soap Holder: Although I still think that it is irrelevant to California, I totally loved this product and I literally use it every day. I heard of people using pantyhose to put their soap slivers to reuse but I always thought that was a bit tacky. What I like about this is that it also acts like a loofa and it actually works really well.

-Sourdough Starter: I am a low-key amateur baker. And I love baking bread! I haven’t gotten a chance to try this sourdough starter yet but I am interested to see how it will taste when I do!

Bottom Line: Although I was a little disappointed that my first box was from where I actually live… I think the whole idea of Escape Monthly is just fantastic. It is such a fun idea for a box subscription and it is a cheaper way to “travel” around the world! I look forward to see what they have next!

This box has my thumbs up!!

Selling My Clothes On Poshmark

Hey everyone! I just wanted to share with you guys a little bit about what I have been doing with some clothes that I didn’t want anymore. There are a couple different websites that I use, but one of the main ones is an app and website called Poshmark.

If you use the code: BOVPR when you sign up, you will get $5 off your first purchase!!

Here are some pros and cons of the website:

Pros:

-Easy and Simple way to sell and buy new clothes including designer pieces

-Wonderful posh community

-Posh Parties- There are three Posh Parties a day and it is a perfect way to showcase your special items

-Posh guarantee- If you receive an item that is not as described then Posh will either give you credits back or you will be able to return the item (only if it was misrepresented)

-Sellers do not have to worry about shipping costs- The buyer automatically pays $4.99 or less for shipping and Poshmark will send a shipping label to your email. You can get free boxes also at your local Post Office.

Cons:

-They take 20% off of your selling price

-You are unable to return items purchased if you decided you don’t like them

-As a buyer you need to pay $4.99 for shipping unless there is a special promotion

Those are my pros and cons! Poshmark is really such a nice community of fashion lovers… you should definitely try it out!

If you use the code: BOVPR when you sign up, you will get $5 off your first purchase!!

Nadine West and Meme Box Review |@3LBlog

Hey guys! Here is my quick little video of the unboxing of these two box subscriptions…. Please scroll down for full reviews on both of the Box Subscription Companies.

Nadine West: I have never previously heard about this box subscription company before. I was googling new Box Subscriptions to try and this one popped up. I loved the idea of a “free” box subscription. Basically they will send you clothes by mail and you keep whatever you like and return whatever you don’t like and they will charge your card accordingly.

Pros:

-Get the chance to try out new fashion

-Get Fashion Delivered to your door

Cons:

-Not really free (you need to pay $7 dollars for shipping)

-The email support staff isn’t very friendly or knowledgable

-Not high quality clothing or jewelry

Let me explain… I received my Nadine West bag and was very excited to check it out. When I signed up there was a message saying that there will be an almost 7 dollar shipping charge, but that it will be applied to whatever you decided to purchase. Once I received my bag, though, I realized I didn’t like anything that they sent me. The prices were a little ridiculous for the type of clothing that they were sending. Why am I going to spend almost 20 bucks on a plain shirt? The necklace they sent was poorly made and had a butterfly on it that wouldn’t have even looked good on my seven year old cousin. Total waste! I tried talking to the email support staff but they were unwilling to yield or waive the shipping fee. If they would have said something like, “I am sorry. Please stay with us and we will waive the following box to you for free and still honor the credit” or something to that effect I would have been willing to try it out again. But they were more like “Sorry not sorry” With that being said, I like the idea of Nadine West. I am looking forward to trying out another box with more high quality items and that is ACTUALLY free. More on that to come.

Meme Box: Who doesn’t love Korean skin care?! The coupon code that I had made my box only 10 bucks and it was totally worth it! They sent the box RIGHT away and it was nicely packaged. Will be ordering from them again.

Okay well that is all that I have for you today! I am trying to post more. Please let me know what more content you would like to see here. I love to hear from you guys!

Always,
